App Connection Issues

The most common iDCCD related issue are due to the unit not powering up so it is not discoverable by the app. The first step is to ensure that the unit has the bright blue flashing lights for pairing mode.

The blue light on the iDCCD icon will flash brightly when working properly, then stop flashing after 30 seconds or when iDCCD is connected to the phone.

Flashing dim red light

This means the battery feed into the unit is not connected properly.

  • For 08+ models, the larger-gauge white wire running to the fuse box needs to be checked to ensure it has 12v at all times (key on or off).

    • Recheck the placement of the power wire in the installation guide for your vehicle

  • For 07 and older models, the power comes in via the brake light switch. Ensure the brake lights are working properly with the key in the off position.

No lights at all

The trigger wire that tells the unit to power up comes from the small red wire that connects to the transmission adapter.

  • Ensure that the reverse lights are working properly, since the power-up wire is shared with the reverse lights

    • If it does, then put the vehicle in reverse to see if the unit powers up.

      • If the unit powers up in reverse, then contact us due to a transmission adapter issue.

  • Double-check the wiring through the 3-pin grey connector in the engine bay.

    • The terminals need to be fully seated and match the wire color.


iDCCD Shuts Off When Lock Is Applied

If the iDCCD powers up normally but shuts off or disconnects from the app as soon as more than 0% lock is commanded, check the center differential coil circuit.

  1. Disconnect the DCCD coil wires from the transmission and test Manual mode again.

    • If the iDCCD now operates normally at all lock percentages, the issue is likely related to the center differential coil or transmission-side wiring.

  2. With the vehicle off, measure resistance across the two DCCD coil wires.

    • 6-speed: approximately 1.7–3.0 Ω.

    • A reading below this range may indicate a partially shorted coil.

  3. Check each DCCD coil wire to chassis ground.

    • There should be no continuity to ground.

  4. If available, connect the iDCCD DCCD outputs to a known-good transmission.

    • If the controller operates normally with the known-good transmission, the original transmission's center differential coil or internal wiring is the likely cause.

Do not continue commanding DCCD lock if the controller repeatedly shuts down when the center differential is connected.
