AVCS Install Guide - Bulkhead AVCS

Pin Insertion Overview Section

Before the pins can be inserted, the lock tab on the plug must be released to allow the pin to be installed. To do this, use a small pick and lift the tab on the underside of the ECU plug, as shown in the diagram and picture below.

It will not come all the way out, just far enough to see open slots.

Install the pins as shown below. Once the lock tab is released, each pin will slide into the housing.

 Once all the pins are installed, push the locking tab back into place.

How to Remove a Pin If Installed Incorrectly

Use a small pick tool (like the one pictured below) to gently lift the locking tab on the terminal for it to slide out of the back of the housing. If it does not come out easily, the tab is not lifted. Do not pull hard on the wire.

The lock tab at the bottom of the housing must be lowered for the terminal to come out. This is the same process as terminal installation.

Make sure the edges of the seals are all the way in, so they sit flush with the housing.

Use a small screwdriver to pop out the Orange lock. They commonly break. If it does, replace it with the extra provided in the kit.
